Background
Hey there, I'm Eli, the host of Elm With Eli, and I thought I'd share a little bit about how the podcast began.
I first created the podcast in 2021 during the COVID-19 lockdown as something fun to do and a way to keep myself occupied. At the time, I had no idea it would continue for this long or grow into what it is today. The podcast was originally called ELM, but after about three years, I decided to rename it, Elm With Eli. I felt the new name was more personal, more creative, and easier for people to find when searching online.
Over the years, the podcast has also gone through a few changes in its cover art. In the beginning, it was very simple - just a green background with large black text that said “ELM.” Later on, I decided to update it with something more polished and eye-catching, so I worked with a designer on Fiverr to create the cover art that the podcast uses today.
When I first started Elm With Eli, it wasn’t a Christian podcast at all. I simply recorded random episodes and interviewed different people using my old iPhone. The audio quality wasn’t great, and there wasn’t much planning involved either!
Today, the podcast has grown and changed a lot. I now edit the episodes myself using the free audio editing software Audacity, and the podcast has become fully focused on Christian conversations. I took the original idea of interviewing people and combined it with my faith. Each episode is a chance to sit down with someone from the church and hear their story - how they came to know Christ and how God has worked in their life.
I hope that these conversations encourage others in their faith and remind us how powerful and personal God’s work can be in our lives.
